The uploading of pictures, images and photos looks to be trickier than I thought... I've tried the Discussion Forum for advice.. and it is a bit technical for me - if any reader knows how to simply load pics in jpeg up to the blog, and can explain it to me I'd be grateful - email me at - rickonhisbike@hotmail.com

thanks
The first travel update, courtesy of Blogger - it's hard to believe but in 12 days time I set off from Nottingham to Miami...

First things first - today is Tuesday - and the training is temporarily on hold while I get the teeth sorted at the butchers, sorry, dentist... otherwise plans are well advanced, especially if this blogger works.

Sunday I took the cat over to Louth (Lincolnshire, England for you world wide readers) to stay with my mother for the next three months.. this is my cat... Nessie...

England has been held in a drift of North winds for the pas ten days, bitterly cold and not much use for training in.. still I've managed to explore part of the National Cycle Network - the path from Derby to York passes my house in Nottingham, which is a deep joy.. I've not gone as far as York yet.. but explored 20kms in each direction - just south of Derby, to just south of Mansfield.. the canal paths and the old mine rail lines are open as cycle paths..

And the countryside is generally open - the paths are not much affected by the foot and mouth outbreak, so apart from a short section north of Nottingham, the path is open, including the forested section through Newstead Abbey - the home of Lord Byron...

More soon.. but for now I want to publish this blog and explore further how to post up pictures.. besides, I've already promised readers a picture of Nessie..
